By providing us with personal information through our website, by completing an event participation form, by email, in person or by telephone, you agree to its processing in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and you authorize SCLERODERMA QUEBEC, its third parties and service providers to process your personal information for the purposes set out below.

Since its inception in 1989, Scleroderma Quebec has become the leading source of French-language public information on scleroderma and support for scleroderma patients in Canada.
Our ultimate goal: defeating Scleroderma!
The organization works on several fronts. Its mission is to:
- Empower people living with the disease to improve their quality of life;
- Raise funds to support cutting-edge scleroderma research;
- Develop tools for patients, the general public and healthcare professionals on various topics related to scleroderma;
- Advocate for the interests of its patient community.
WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
We may collect and process various types of personal information in the course of our business and provision of services, including:
- professional and/or personal contact information, such as first name, last name, address(es), email address(es), date of birth and telephone number(s);
- biographical information such as job title, employer, professional and/or personal background, photographs, video or audio content;
- medical information, including symptoms and conditions, exercise and other health habits;
- Marketing information and communication preferences, as well as related information such as food preferences, comments and survey responses;
- information relating to contribution history, participation in the organization’s events, billing and financial information, such as a billing address, bank account information or payment data;

Scleroderma Quebec is a non-profit organization, duly incorporated and recognized as a charitable organization. As such, the personal information we collect may be transferred to and processed by any entity within the Scleroderma Quebec network. - Volunteers and clients of Scleroderma Quebec for the purposes of recruiting human resources, volunteers and soliciting financial or other contributions;

Invisible pixels in HTML emails
Our marketing emails contain a unique campaign-specific "web beacon" that lets us know if our emails have been opened and, in combination with other technology, verifies clicks on links within the email. We may use this information for a variety of purposes, including to determine which of our communications are of most interest to you and to ask users who do not engage with our messages whether they still wish to receive them. WHERE DO WE STORE PERSONAL INFORMATION AND TRANSFERS OUTSIDE QUEBEC?
Scleroderma Quebec strives to host your data in Canada and, whenever possible, in Quebec. We use Microsoft Canada tools and servers located in Ontario, as well as a replication of this data in Quebec.
We use Mailchimp to send out our newsletters. The information collected on this platform is stored in cloud services in the United States.
HOW DO WE PROTECT PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect personal information submitted to us, both at the time of transmission and once we receive it. We maintain appropriate physical, technical and administrative safeguards to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access, misuse or other unlawful forms of processing of personal information in our possession. We have taken steps to ensure that the only employees who have access to your personal information are those who have a need to know or whose duties reasonably require them to know it.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or means of electronic storage is 100% secure. Accordingly, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit or provide to us, and you do so at your own risk. Nor can we guarantee that such information will not be accessed, obtained, disclosed, altered or destroyed as a result of a breach of our physical, technical or administrative safeguards.
